ABout QIP-PG Certificate Programme in Emerging Areas.
The AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has launched a new program called the “AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Programme in Emerging Areas.” This is part of its Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) scheme. It was approved in the 159th Executive Committee meeting of AICTE. The program will start in the academic year 2023-24. It aims to train faculty members in emerging technologies. Many institutions face a lack of skilled faculty in these areas.

- Data Science and Quantum
- Computing
- Cyber security
- 3D Printing and Additive
- Manufacturing
- Machine Learning
- Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
- Block chain and Cybersecurity
- High Performance Computing
- Internet of Things (IOT)
- Robotics and 3D Printing
- Blockchain and Data Science
Eligibility Criteria
Faculty Status:
- The applicant must be a full-time, regular, or permanent faculty member of an AICTE-approved degree or diploma level institute.
Core Engineering Disciplines:
- The program is open to faculty members from:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Material/Metallurgical Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
Teaching Experience:
- The applicant must have at least 5 years of teaching experience at the graduate or diploma level in an AICTE-approved institution.
Host Institution Criteria:
- Applicants must meet any additional criteria set by the host institutions.
Programme Structure and Requirements
Duration:
- The program lasts six months.
Mode of Delivery:
- The program will be delivered in a hybrid mode.
- At least four weeks of the program will be conducted offline.
Batch Size:
- Each session will have 50 candidates at one host institution.
Attendance:
- Selected faculty members must attend all training sessions and workshops, both online and offline.
Curriculum:
- The program includes both theoretical and practical training in:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Machine Learning
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Robotics
- Cybersecurity
- Renewable Energy
Assessment and Certification:
- Participants must complete all assessments and assignments to get certified.
- AICTE and the host institution will award the certification.
Commitment to Teaching:
- Faculty members must use the knowledge and skills from the program in their teaching.
- They should help develop courses in emerging technologies at their home institutions.
Financial Support and Scholarship:
Fee Structure:
- There is no fee for the program.
- The host institution will provide accommodation in their hostels.
- A refundable caution money deposit of Rs. 5,000/- is required.
Financial Support for Host Institutions:
- AICTE will give Rs. 20,00,000/- per host institution per program for six months.
- This covers coordination fees, accommodation, online courses, and lab expenses but not food costs.
Phased Release of Funds:
- Initially, Rs. 15,00,000/- will be released.
- The remaining Rs. 5,00,000/- will be released after submission of the Utilization Certificate, Program Completion Report, and student evaluation report.
Accommodation:
- If the parent and admitting institutes are in the same district, participants can arrange their own accommodation.
