  • Scholarship Distribution:

    • Up to 82,000 new scholarships are awarded each year.
    • Scholarships are distributed among states based on the population of students aged 18-25.
    • Half of the scholarships are reserved for female students, promoting equal opportunities.
  • Who Can Apply?:

    • Students who scored in the top 20% of their stream (Science, Humanities, or Commerce) in Class XII.
    • The scholarship is available to those pursuing regular degree courses at recognized colleges or universities.
    • Students from families with an annual income of ₹4.5 lakh or less are eligible.
    • Students already receiving other scholarships or fee waivers are not eligible.
  • Scholarship Amount:

    • ₹12,000 per year for undergraduate students in the first three years.
    • ₹20,000 per year for postgraduate students and for students in the fourth and fifth years of professional courses like engineering and medicine.
  • Renewal Requirements:

    • Students must score at least 50% in their annual exams and maintain 75% attendance.
    • Good behavior is required; any involvement in misconduct can lead to the scholarship being canceled.
  • Direct Payment:

    • Scholarship funds are directly transferred to the student’s bank account, making the process simple and transparent.
